Following the recent UK Government lockdown Covid-19 Response Spring 2021 which came out at the end of February 2021, it states that although gyms can open on 12 April under Step 2, adult exercise classes indoors would still not be allowed until Step 3, hopefully 17 May. During Step 2 period, outdoor classes of no more than 6 people organised by the Gym would be allowed. If the situation continues to improve, we will hopefully be opened on the 17 May. Do watch this space for future updates.

Keep up with your practice and if you need a reminder of your form sequence, do check out our online streaming site:   Make sure you join as a member site first if you wish to place a subscription. Membership is free.

Update: 26/11/20
Master Ding Academy HQ
Hope that you are all well and safe.
Good news! Following the second lockdown in November 2020, the Government have recently announced the lifting of some restrictions and gyms can now re-open as from December 3rd. The Academy HQ will be opened on this date.
The previous MDA Covid-19 guideline set up in accordance to the Government Health & Safety guideline must still be followed when attending class. If there have been any changes in the previous completed MDA Pre-screening form, please ensure you let us know immediately.
To ensure the safety of MDA students and instructors, if you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), get a test as soon as possible. Stay at home and do not attend the Tai Chi class until you get a negative result.
For your information, the main symptoms of coronavirus are:
a. high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
b. new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
c. loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.
Hope to see you all back in class on Thursday, 3rd December.
Be alert, take care and stay safe.

To All MDA Instructors And Members

Hope that you and your family are well.

Following UK Government advice on 16th March 2020, and my discussions with Dr. Alan Ding, Master Ding Academy HQ Limehouse and Woodford will suspend all activity at both instructor and student level with immediate effect from 17th March 2020 until 14th April 2020 subject to continued review. The decision has been made in the interest of all instructors and members’ safety. This will have several implications:

1. April Instructor Retreat
The 2020 Annual instructor Retreat from 4th - 11th April will be postponed. It will be rescheduled to Saturday 15th - 22nd August 2020 - the original dates for the August Open Retreat. The August Retreat 2020 will now be a closed Instructor Retreat. If you have a booking at the April Instructor Retreat and are able to attend the August date, please let us know. If you are unable to attend the August Retreat 2020, we can either arrange a refund or you can use your payment to attend other MDA courses in the future. If you require a refund, please let us know the following:
Bank Name:
Bank Address:
For UK only
Sort Code:
Account Number:
For overseas Instructors or students:
2. MDA HQ classes
These will be suspended. Your class fees may be used in the future, to take extra sessions owed - during the fallow period, when classes resume.

3. Branch classes
All instructors (UK & Worldwide) should look to suspend all classes with immediate effect. I understand the socio economic impact that this may have but overwhelmingly, it is with the interests of instructor and member welfare, that this decision has been made. Do let me know the action you have taken.
I refer to the most current guidance released Monday evening evening:

Do email us should you have any other queries.

Further update will be posted here.

Take care and stay safe.
