Important message for all MDA Instructors and members

Updates: 30/4/21
To All MDA Instructors And Members

Master Ding Academy will be opened on the Monday, 17th May 2021 under Step 3 of the UK Government lockdown guideline unless
there is a change in the pandemic situation. Please refer to this website for any news update.

Given the circumstances, to ensure the safety of all people attending the Academy, the previous MDA Covid-19 guideline set up in accordance to the Government Health & Safety guideline must still be followed at all times when attending classes. All instructors, students and visitors will also need to complete a new MDA Pre-Screening Form on their first visit back to the Academy. You can email us for the form or complete the form at the Academy. Please ensure you let us know immediately if there are any changes in your condition.
Once again, if you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), get a test as soon as possible.
Stay at home and do not attend the Tai Chi class until you get a negative result.
Hope to see you all back in class on Monday, 17th May 2021
Be alert, take care and stay safe.

Updates: 1/4/21
To All MDA Instructors And Members

Hope that you and the family are all well and safe during the lockdown.
Following the recent UK Government lockdown Covid-19 Response Spring 2021 which came out at the end of February 2021, it states that although gyms can open on 12 April under Step 2, adult exercise classes indoors would still not be allowed until Step 3, hopefully 17 May. During Step 2 period, outdoor classes of no more than 6 people organised by the Gym would be allowed. If the situation continues to improve, we will hopefully be opened on the 17 May. Do watch this space for future updates.
Keep up with your practice and if you need reminder of your form sequence, do check out our online streaming site:   Make sure you join as a member site first if you wish to place a subscription. Membership is free.
Until then take care and stay save.

See you all soon.
May the Chi be with you all.

Updates: 4/1/21
To All MDA Instructors And Members

Hope that all of you have had a Merry Christmas and a great New Year 2021

Following the November 2020 lockdown, all London areas have been moved into Tier 4 which meant that we are still unable to re-open the Academy until the restrictions are lifted. We remain closed until such time when the Government announces that we (i.e. leisure & gyms) can re-open.

Once again during lockdown, do keep up with your regular Tai Chi practice at home. You can also use our online streaming website: as a valuable source of reference.

Remain alert, take care and be safe

See you all soon in class!

Updates: 2/11/20

To All MDA Instructors And Members

Hope that you are all well and healthy.

Further to the Government recent announcement, Saturday, 31st October 2020, United Kingdom will be introducing a second lockdown with new national restrictions as from Thursday, 5th November which will end on 2nd December 2020. Given the circumstances, Master Ding Academy will remain open until Wednesday, 3rd November 2020 and have to close during this period mentioned above.

During this period of lockdown, keep up with your regular Tai Chi practice at home and you can also use our streaming website: as a valuable source of reference.

As regards to the scheduled 3 days intensive Annual Instructors course from Friday, 4th - Sunday, 6th December 2020, this will take place if the LOCKDOWN is lifted. Please check the events page on Master Ding Academy website for any updates.

Updates will also be posted in the news section of the Master Ding Academy website as to when we will reopen.

Once again, remember the three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other:
Wash hands – keep washing your hands regularly
Cover face – wear a face covering in enclosed spaces Make space – stay at least 2 meters apart or 1 meter with face covering or other precautions .

Take care and stay safe.

To All MDA Instructors And Members

Hope that you and your family are well.

Following UK Government advice on 16th March 2020, and my discussions with Dr Alan Ding, Master Ding Academy HQ Limehouse and Woodford will suspend all activity at both instructor and student level with immediate effect from 17th March 2020 until 14th April 2020 subject to continued review. The decision has been made in the interest of all instructors and members’ safety. This will have several implications:

1. April Instructor Retreat
The 2020 Annual instructor Retreat from 4th - 11th April will be postponed. It will be rescheduled to Saturday 15th - 22nd August 2020 - the original dates for the August Open Retreat. The August Retreat 2020 will now be a closed Instructor Retreat. If you have a booking at the April Instructor Retreat and are able to attend the August date, please let us know. If you are unable to attend the August Retreat 2020, we can either arrange a refund or you can use your payment to attend other MDA courses in the future. If you require a refund, please let us know the following:
Bank Name:
Bank Address:
For UK only
Sort Code:
Account Number:
For overseas Instructors or students:
2. MDA HQ classes
These will be suspended. Your class fees may be used in the future, to take extra sessions owed - during the fallow period, when classes resume.

3. Branch classes
All instructors (UK & Worldwide) should look to suspend all classes with immediate effect. I understand the socio economic impact that this may have but overwhelmingly, it is with the interests of instructor and member welfare, that this decision has been made. Do let me know the action you have taken.
I refer to the most current guidance released Monday evening evening:

Do email us should you have any other queries.

Further update will be posted here.

Take care and stay safe.
